Livvi Exclusive: Everywhere For The Holidays
DECEMBER 23, 2009, 12:04 am

Wow, time has flown!!! The last you heard from me was back in September after coming off my promotional tour. I spent a few weeks at home getting back into my vocal training, performance rehearsals and gymmin' it. I started running three miles a day and going on hikes with my dad on Saturdays. I know it sounds awful, but you feel good afterward, for sure! Plus, it was nice to be with my family and relax... but when October came around, I was bursting to go!!
Oct. 22: I had a performance at Ryder University in New Jersey... they were so kind, and we had an awesome show! I was so happy because I brought my vocal trainer/BFF Karen "Marisa Lindsay" Griffith along with me. Her birthday happens to be the day after mine, so we get along like peas and rice — two CRAZY Geminis LOL... read more
After the NJ show, we drove to New York (a la "Empire State of Mind," which was playing nonstop on our way there!) for a two-hour photo shoot/interview. It was for Steve Madden Music — I will be their next featured artist (YAY!). I LOVE their shoes and accessories... definitely one of my fave brands. We did the shoot under the Brooklyn Bridge, and it was bloody freezing!! And it wasn't just my warm tropical blood that made it feel like the North Pole... local New Yorkers were shivering, too. And I was wearing a skirt and fishnets. AHHHH! It was sooo funny because I was shaking like a leaf in between shots, but as soon as they were ready to take a picture, I put my shivering to the side and was instantly fierce. Gotta bring it! Then Karen and I went to Whole Foods (one of my fave spots) to stock up on chicken soup including lots of garlic (a natural antibiotic).
Karen left on Monday, and I did a photo shoot (outdoors again!) for Vainstyle Magazine. Was a great day, I hope the shots come out great... can't wait!!
The rest of the week was spent prepping for my "Automatik" video shoot. It's produced by RedOne and is a big club banger which will be released in the UK as a single in a couple of months. My parents even came in from Barbados for the shoot. :) So fab to have them with me. I did choreography, fittings and met the director, Malcolm Jones, who is lovely. The video shoot was set in a club in New York and was lots of fun. Great day!!
Oct. 31: The next night (o0o0o0o Halloween!), I had a performance which was gr8... saw some craziness that night LOL! I then did a couple of studio sessions with Deputy and Lucas Secon... yezirrr! Then went home for a couple weeks.
Nov. 18: I left home again for a couple performances; one in Chicago for Kiss 103.5 and one in Detroit for WKQI. It was soooo much fun... my dancers/friends (Hannah and Victoria), as well as my engineer Jeffrey and I had the best time everrr.
Straight after Detroit, I went to LA to do some writing... fun times! I worked mostly with Toby Gad, who I worked with back in 2007. I love working with him, so I was elated when he said he had a bit of time to work with me... we wrote a song for Miranda Cosgrove who is so sweet! I also worked with Fraser T Smith, a producer out of the UK, and worked with artist/songwriter Heather Bright... LOVE her!!! I also got to spend time with the writing camp (Evan Bogart, DQ and Erika Nuri) who are always lavvly! Did a song with Chris DeStefano and also had a session with Blake — the keyboard player from MetroStation. Blake brought his hyper kitten who did not go ignored. He scratched my bum twice and randomly typed on my computer. So presh!! I also got to get in with Fernando, a very talented producer. We did a couple songs with producer/songwriter T-Wiz... gr8 sessions overall!
Dec. 12: Headed to the B96 Jingle Bash with my fabulousss dancers Hannah and Ayesha (Victoria was busy). Jeffrey came in from New York, and we had two great performances (one at the Arena and one at the after party). Fun times!!
Then off to New York for a couple days for some meetings and recording, short and sweet. :) Now on the plane as I type this I'm headed home once more. This time for Christmas, so it'll be fun. My flight gets in at 11:50pm tonight, and I have a performance tomorrow at a local Barbados radio station... Mix 96.9's Jingle Jam. Busy, busy!! And I have an interview at 7am... oooh, the crazy life of a recording artist! But I love it. :)
Love you guys! xoxoxoxoxo Livvi
